About the Photographer
I was born November 1926 in the Soviet Paradise, the former U.S.S.R. In 1975,
at the peak of detente, when the USA and the U.S.S.R. joint space flight of Apollo-Soyuz happened,
the tensions between the two countries had lessened. I was able to join my family, which had been divided
by two 20th century wars, in Chicago. I got my American citizenship in 1982, and the door to world travel
has been opened. I am fortunate to have had an opportunity to travel quite extensively around the globe, spanning
all continents except Africa and Antarctica.
Although I was involved in the photographic activity half of my life, I do not
consider myself a strong technical photographer. However, a good sense of composition, the help of modern equipment
and the trial-and-error approach produced quite good results. My electronic darkroom, which includes an Apple Macintosh G4 computer, a scanner, various image editing software and a high resolution Epson color printer that makes a good contribution to the final quality. I am not sure whether I produce artful photography but it is certainly art of photography.
As the member of PSA (Photographic Society of America) I had taken part in many
International Photo Exhibitions. Here I present my travel photography portfolio.
